When We Don't Understand God

Some leaned on their own understanding. Some simply couldn't see the whole picture. God met them all.

What happened

In a garden of abundance, Eve was given one boundary. The serpent did not begin with a command but with a question: 'Did God really say...?' She looked, considered, and ate — and Adam ate with her.

What they misunderstood

She misread the boundary as withholding rather than protection, and she trusted a voice that reinterpreted God's words instead of returning to God to ask.

What God revealed

God came looking for them. Even in judgment, He clothed them and spoke the first promise of a Redeemer.

What this teaches us

The first attack on wisdom is rarely a lie about you — it is a lie about God's motives. When a voice makes God's instruction sound stingy, that voice is not from God.

Reflect

Where have I quietly reinterpreted God's instruction so it would fit what I wanted?

You've tended today. Return tomorrow and keep growing.
